| Poll: Choice for President in the 2010 Elections |

The presidential race in the 2010 elections is heating up. We are constantly bombarded with commercials and press releases. Candidates are positioning themselves as the bettter presidential choice. Survey results are released, showing the front runners in the Presidential race. It's time we have our own informal survey. There's no question why this poll should be here. The President's decisions affect all sectors of the country, including the business community. We were tempted to limit the poll to business/economic considerations, as this is a site for Pinoy Entrepreneurs. We've thrown out this assumption not only because the best economic-minded presidential candidate may not necessarily be the best choice, but also because a choice is ideally based on all factors. The frontrunners in the August 2009 nationwide survey of Pulse Asia are the following: Senator Manuel B. Villar, Former President Joseph Estrada, Vice-President Noli L. de Castro, Senator Francis G. Escudero and Manuel A. Roxas II. On the other hand, the following names emerged in the Second Quarter 2009 survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS): Senator Manny Villar, former Pres. Joseph Estrada, Sen. Francis Escudero, Sen. Mar Roxas, Vice-Pres. Noli de Castro, Sen. Loren Legarda, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, Sen. Richard Gordon, MMDA Chairperson Bayani Fernando, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Brother Eddie Villanueva, Defense Sec. Gilbert Teodoro, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Pampanga Gov. Ed Panlilio and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago. Let's have an informal poll -- Who will you vote for President in the 2010 elections? The initial run of the poll (29 August - 16 December 2009), which ended until a few days after the deadline for filing of Certificates of Candidacy, has the following results: Noynoy Aquino - 51.1% (1226); Manny Villar - 14.2% (341), Francis Escudero - 10.8% (259); Gilbert Teodoro - 7.8% (188); Joseph Estrada - 4.3% (104); Bayani Fernando - 3.1% (74); Mar Roxas - 2.6% (63); Jejomar Binay - 2% (49); Richard Gordon - 1.9% (45); Noli de Castro - 0.9% (21); Loren Legarda - 0.6% (14); and Ed Panlilio - 0.5% (13). We are reopening a new poll to reflect the eight (8) "presidentiables" approved by the COMELEC. The poll is still found at the left side of this site. You could explain your vote, or give any comments, at the comment section below. Track the results here.
