Looking at the success (and failure) of others is important for Pinoy Entrepreneurs. We learn a lot from learning about the business experience of entrepreneurs who've made it (and, equally, the lessons of those who failed). Thus, it's interesting to know the 10 Outstanding Entrepreneurs of 2008 list, released by Entrepreneur Philippines magazine in its December 2008 issue.
Mary Grace Arboleda-Young (Cordillera Cofee; coffee business)
Rina Avecilla (Xocolat; chocolate cafe)
Florante Cruz (BC Net, Inc.; Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP)
Teodor Ferrer (Generika Drugstore)
Robbie Goco (Cyma; restaurant serving Greek cuisine)
Rolando Liwanag (IDD Cellphone; cellular phone business)
Mercedes Mejia (SLERS Industries; processed meat products)
Richard Sanz (Food Asia Corp.; tea beverages, including Tea Square)
Marielle Valdez-Fong (Balikbayan Gear; luggage and travel accessories)
Rolita Villo (Lolo Tinong's; bakery)
One entrepreneur started with an initial capital of P80,000, while others initially invested millions of pesos. Some work to continue a family business, while others start from scratch.
