Official 2009 Holidays: Declared National and Regular Holidays in the Philippines Print E-mail

Maybe you're planning your 2009 vacations this early. Most of the 2009 regular holidays and nationwide special holidays are movable, as provided under Republic Act 9492. For these movable holidays, the President is tasked by law to issue a Proclamation, at least 6 months prior to a movable holiday, fixing the specific date of that non-working day (if you're looking for the guidelines on the computation of holiday pay or premium, go here). The Philippine holidays listed below are under RA 9492 and Proclamation 1699, unless otherwise indicated.

National Regular Holidays and Special Non-Working Holidays (unless indicated as a special non-working holiday, these are regular holidays)

The Eidul Adha shall be celebrated as a regional holiday in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). The list will be updated, with specific dates, and other special holidays will be added as soon as the relevant Proclamation/s is/are issued. Click here for 2010 holidays, and here for 2008 holidays. Please madam president declare mo n non-working holiday ang December 28-29, 2009... pra madadaggan p ang araw s pag-spent namin s aming pamilya....Thank you...hope your positive response...

sana walang pasok ngayonh December 28-29 para tuloy2x na ang holiday para maka sama namin ang mahal sa buhay kagaya last year ang sarap ng felling ang saya talaga.....plzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Pano ung dec. 26, 2009 at Jan. 2, 2010 hanggang saturday kc pasok namin. eh hindi sya kasama sa holiday pano na lang ang private sectors at BPO may pasok ba un? sa madeclare as special non working.

i wish i-declare din na holiday this year (2K9) ang December 26, 28 & 29... para naman makapag-spend naman ng mahaba-habang bakasyon ang mga kapatid natin na nagtatrabaho na malalayo sa kani-kanilang mga mahal sa buhay... 
 
at kung sakaling i-declare ang mga araw na 'to ay sana aga-agahan naman ang proclamation para naman may oras pang makapag-plano... 
 
at sana kasama sa mga holidays na 'to ang mga BPO companies, dahil karamihan sa mga employee nila ay galing sa malalayong lugar na nag-aasam na makasama ang kanilang pamilya this year end....
