Goolai (Agri-Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative) Print E-mail
In today's trip to the grocery, my wife bought a Goolai salad pack. After around 3 years since I last worked in Makati, this is the first time I again encountered Goolai (produced by Gemmarc Foods, Inc./Agri-Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative). I hate vegetables, then and until now, but I survived two weeks of purely Goolai lunch during that time.

The beauty of Goolai salads is that it's always crisp and fresh, which could be the reason why I survived for two weeks on Goolai diet. As appearing in its website:

"Our lettuces (lollo rosa, romaine, green ice, red rapid, frillise and iceburg ) come from HYDROPONIC FARMS in Tagaytay and Silang, Cavite. THESE LETTUCES DO NOT TOUCH THE GROUND AND ARE FREE FROM PESTICIDES AND SOIL SEDIMENTS.

Prepared early morning, Goolai Salads taste clean, crisp and crunchy. Our generous toppings and dressings vary everyday, such as cranberry, strawberry, balsamic, basic, poppyseed, mango vinaigrette, Caesar's salad, honey mustard, creamy onion, creamy garlic parmesan, tex mex and ranch dressing, and raspberry, honey lime, Italian, avocado dressing and many other popular recipes."

The website also states that for bulk orders and special arrangements, the telephone numbers to contact are 6471205 or 6471356. I don't know if these are the same numbers used by our secretary to order the vegetable salads in bulk. More importantly, there may no longer be any deliveries because unfortunately, as of 1 June 2008, Goolai is discontinuing personal deliveries, including disabling the website ordering system, "in order to concentrate on our outlets in supermarkets and other stores." I also don't know if  this is permanent.
