SEC online verification still down |
One of the steps in registering a company with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as discussed in a previous post (" How to Register a Corporation with the SEC"), is the verification and reservation of the proposed corporate name. This is done online, which means the process is convenient for the Pinoy Entrepreneurs who would want to register a corporation, a preferred form of business.
If you’re frustrated lately that you still can’t use the online verification and reservation system of the SEC, maybe you’re not alone. It has been weeks that the system is down, which means that the SEC is back to the slower manual mode. Well, I’m not really that frustrated because we were been able to complete a number of registrations despite the glitch, although we have to explain to clients why the registration takes longer than usual. Besides, I understand that the SEC (rather, its service provider) is doing what it can to restore the system. Here’s the SEC advisory in case you’ve missed it: SEC ADVISORY (Beginning 19 June 2008) WE ARE CURRENTLY ENCOUNTERING TECHNICAL PROBLEMS WITH OUR SEC-iREGISTER. TO BETTER SERVE YOUR NAME VERIFICATION AND RESERVATION NEEDS, WE SHALL BE ISSUING PRIORITY NUMBERS (PN) TO THE FIRST 100 CLIENTS EVERY MORNING ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED BASIS. ADDITIONAL PNs MAY ONLY BE ISSUED TO CLIENTS AS APPLICANTS ARE SERVED. THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY ACTION. WE SHALL REVERT TO REGULAR PROCESSING WHEN OUR SYSTEMS ALLOW. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. I hope the SEC gets this fixed soon.
