| Poll: Are Pinoy Entrepreneurs Born or Made? |

The topic on whether the Pinoy Entrepreneur is born or made was tackled in a previous post. There was, however, no poll that accompanied it. This time, let's poll the opinions of our readers on whether entrepreneurship is predetermined by birth or, regardless of the circumstances one is born into, anyone could work to become a successful businessman. The poll is found at the left side of this blog. You could also explain your vote through the comment section below. By "born", we don't mean the financial condition of the family that one is born into. It doesn't mean membership in the higher end of the socio-economic structure upon birth. Just like inheritance, it's passed on from one generation to another. By "born", we mean the traits and predispositions that are ingrained into an individual's DNA. Perhaps you've heard someone say that he/she is better suited to be an entrepreneur than others. The meaning of "made" is straighforward. Could entrepreneurship be taught or learned? Indeed, some say that an entrepreneur could be trained. If this is so, then all graduates of business/entrepreneur schools should be entrepreneurs by now. But we all know this is not true. Update: The poll ran from 20 June 2008 to 10 August 2008, with a total of 102 votes cast. A clear majority (55 votes or 53.9%) says that entrepreneurs are "made." There's not much difference between those who believe that entrepreneurs are "born" (22 votes or 21.6%) and those who say it's a combination of both (25 votes or 24.5%). You could still express your opinion through the comment section below.
