….a Cebuana on Leyte grounds…

Event trend maker and leader Cristina Magallon have nailed her company Zaibatsu Events Productions Plus on solid Leyte grounds. Going to a place where every detail becomes foreign to you, Zaibatsu has become a pioneer in making the region a destination of corporate events and happenings. It has created excitement, fun and entertainment to another level from a virtually sleepy city to a production of events destination.. And yes, … Cristina’s magic touch opened eventology to a degree to many, and she is pure breed Cebuana…

….about Zaibatsu…

It was very hard to pronounce at first, lest understand the meaning of this word. But curiosity always lead information to the company. “Zaibatsu” is a Japanese term referring to the “financial cliques,” or business conglomerates, whose influence allowed control over the economy. You “control”, thus you “create” something that people will follow your lead. And that is what Zaibatsu Events just did when it finally opened its services in 2002 to Tacloban City, Leyte.

The biggest events in Tacloban City was maneuvered by Zaibatsu. The latest concert production it handled was bringing APO Hiking Society to do a show in Leyte in 2007. Name any band, or artist, and it is likely that Zaibatsu has handled an event with them. Only 5 years in the business, they have handled the biggest to the smallest accounts of almost all major companies too. Corporate Sponsors have valued their relation with Zaibatsu Events. This hard to pronounce company suddenly became a by word in event productions, using Zaibatsus’ resource for big corporations like Globe Telecoms, Smart Communications, San Miguel Corp., Coke, Pepsi etc etc etc to increase their marketing, trade, and sales pitch. From organizing to producing, staging, merchandising, planning… Zaibatsu leads the way in event making on Leyte grounds…

….about Cristina…

Born and bred in Cebu, Cristina is the 10th and the youngest of the Magallon clan. She studied at Saint Theresa’s College, Cebu City, an all girls school that produced the likes of Cebu Gov. Gwen Codilla and famed international fashion guru Monique Lhuillier in New York. So armed with a distinct education of a Theresian, and a very strong positive personality that faces the challenges of life on her way, Cristina handles the amount of pressure on Zaibatsu, and on her personal life, always with a smile..

“Life is never without problems. And it is up to you on how you welcome these, on how you use the experiences of life’s problems to challenge you to be better or to be the best of who you are.” she says… Well…, very well said. Her optimism to be the best on her field did not go unnoticed. She would always raise the bar from a previous past event, that ironically, was also handled by her company. “It was a challenge from with in, and Zaibatsu now bore the fruits of dedication, sincerity, and friendship that we have from our clients. We never short change them with their expectations from us. Yes, we always surprise them with more than what is in the contract. That is us, that’s the mark of ZAIBATSU”.

Cristina has become a structure in event making and trend setting for the Region, especially Tacloban City. It was a very rough and hard path to be recognized and appreciated. And the roller coaster of emotions, the financial straps that entails with it, and the pressure of eventology eventually made Cristina, and made Zaibatsu. She is one tough lady to crack. And she would always recant that what she does is a high wire act without the safety nets. Anything goes. And it is the thrill of making a production from conceptualization to materialization that this Cebuana made her a name in the industry.

Cristina resides in Tacloban City, where her company Zaibatsu Event Productions Plus is based. She has a 13 year old son, Kyle…to contact : email her at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it …>>>
