Buying and selling online is just one of the profitable components of e-commerce. When you speak of buy-and-sell or auction these days, you think of eBay, although you may be aware that there are buy-and-sell sites focusing on the Filipino market. For purposes of this post and its related poll (at the lower-left side of this blog), we're treating buy-and-sell synonymously with auction sites. We'll be including the results of the poll in our subsequent review, should we have one.
Some of these sites are currently engaging in advertisements and promotions to get more traffic. People would want to participate in an e-commerce site where more sellers are selling and more buyers/bidders are buying/bidding. In the highly competitive e-commerce world, traffic and quality are among the main ingredients for success. That being said, let's see your votes. Which is better (in appearance, usability and security) among the following buy-and-sell e-commerce sites focusing on the Philippines?
If we missed out similar sites that deal with buy-and-sell e-commerce in the Philippines, please let us know. You could also opt to explain your vote at the comments section below. (The marks/names and designs are the respective properties of the featured sites.) Update: Thanks to cissmanila for pointing out other buy-and-sell e-commerce sites. As to 88DB, its site describes it as "a classified site for organizations, companies, individuals, clubs, societies and associations to promote and hire services of various kinds." We can't include it here. GoNegosyo has a classified ads component, but it's not primarily a buy-and-sell site. While Ads-ph.com is a classifieds site, we didn't find any claim similar to the sites listed above. We could be wrong, of course, and you could tell us why. Update (8 November 2007): Thanks to MiGs for suggesting a few other sites. ecBuyph.com or bidshot appears to be focused on electronic products, which is also true with CgeNa.com. On the other hand, Tipidpc.com appears to be limited to computers and computer-related products. For the same reasons given in the first update, perhaps these sites will be included in separate subsequent polls. Update/Results: We were planning to close this poll with the posting of a new one ("more Entrepreneurs or more Opportunities"), but let's keep it running for a longer time. Here are the results as of 12 January 2008: Auction.ph (32%), ebay.ph (28%), PinoyBuyNSell.com (24%) and Sulit.com.ph (14%). The poll is closed as of 31 January 2008, with the following results: Auction.ph (34.5%), ebay.ph (24.1%), PinoyBuyNSell.com (24.1%) and Sulit.com.ph (17.2%). Extended: The poll was reopened on 9 February 2008, with the 29 votes noted above. Here are the results as of 12 January 2008: ebay.ph (28.6%), Auction.ph (26.5%), Sulit.com.ph (24.5%) and PinoyBuyNSell.com (20.4%).
