The Department of Agriculture urged the private sector to invest more in the natural ingredients industry, estimated to be worth at least $1 billion worldwide - and growing - because only a few firms have put their money in this industry. As reported in Inquirer.net, the Department of Agriculture's Biotechnology Program Office (DA-BPO) is "currently encouraging more investments in the cultivation of malunggay, sambong, banaba, lagundi, mangosteen, chichirica, luyang dilaw, saluyot, bawang and atswete, which could be developed to meet global demand for natural ingredients." You may have easily noticed that herbs and other natural ingredients are making it big these days. Maybe this is the path to your first million.
