| Polls: Ramdam ko ang Asenso and Erap's Pardon |

You've probably seen the commercial wherein businessmen and ordinary workers are saying "Ramdam ko ang Pag-Asenso." Some say this reflects the general economic condition of the Philippines and that Filipinos, in general, are economically better off than before. Others, on the other hand, say that this is bull and merely a propaganda of the government, and that any "progress" is felt only by a few, not by those who most need that it. So, let's hear your opinion on this matter. Comments are welcome below. You could also cast your vote in the Polls found at the bottom-left sidebar.
(Update: The poll is closed as of 2 November 2007. The final results reveal that 55.6% answered "Yes," ramdam nila ang asenso, while 44.4% said "No". Please use the comments section below if you disagree or if you have anything to say.) At the same time, the business sector -- as well as the entire country in general -- is divided as to the propriety and impact of the pardon extended by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada, after Erap was convicted by the Sandiganbayan for plunder. For instance, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) says that the pardon would "move the country forward to greater economic progress and social harmony," as reported in the Inquirer (27 October 2007), while the Makati Business Club (MBC) says that it sent the wrong message. Your opinion and vote are also welcome. (Update: The poll was closed on 30 OCtober 2007, with half saying that the pardon of Erap will move the country forward, and the other half saying "No". As the poll is closed, please use the comments section below if you disagree or if you have anything to say.)
