Business Blogs and the Pinoy Entrepreneurs Wiki Print E-mail
Nothing is permanent in life, something which could very well be said about business, as well as the Pinoy Entrepreneurs site. Just recently, we announced the removal of the Business Glossary and added the Dictionary in its place, something which is necessary to remove duplication of work. The desirability of duplication, in business or in the internet, depends on many things. Sometimes it's necessary to remove employees in redundancy, but it may also be necessary to implement redundant systems to ensure that service continues should something happen to the front line.

Nearer to home, I mean to the Pinoy Entrepreneurs site, the link exchange and similar features which allow the listing of business blogs - web logs that are written by Pinoy for Pinoy entrepreneurs - have been removed. It's not that we don't want business blogs here; we encourage good business blogs and provide adequate means for their exposure here.

The reason why the link exchange was removed is simple - we want a better way of presenting Pinoy business blogs and forums to the members of the Pinoy Entrepreneurs community. The exposure provided by the link exchange is a bit limited (although it's better in terms of having a reciprocal link to this site). So, with that consideration, we are testing the "bookmarks," something which you can see through the new menu item "Blogs."

WikiPilipinas logoThis feature is, in our opinion, better in terms of listing Pinoy business blogs (while the menu item is designated as "Blogs," Filipino business forums should be included here). Let's hear whether you agree or not.

On the other hand, we announced last month that the Pinoy Entrepreneurs wiki is up and running. We fear, however, that its days may be numbered. More than a week after the Pinoy Entrepreneurs wiki was created, the WikiPilipinas (see logo, courtesy of http://en.wikipilipinas.org/), which follows the footsteps of the popular Wikipedia, was launched.

It's really awkward to put "Pinoy Entrepreneurs wiki" in the same line with WikiPilipinas and Wikipedia, as the two are created by professional programmers and way, way much better. The "Pinoy Entrepreneurs wiki," on the other hand, was basically an attempt of a non-techie person to see how the wiki platform works (much like knowing the details how Wordpress, CMS and other platforms work, in order to better understand and apply laws relating to the internet).

In other words, we welcome WikiPilipinas. It is, after all, the work of Pinoy Entrepreneurs.
