China is not Philippines. Different cultures think differently.

it's impossible to clear it out completely from the system. even we, the simple filipino, are corrupt in the smallest of ways. and then we expect the great branches in public office constituted by swarms of filipinos behave better?

Education is a right, a law, and not an option. why prevent a legal person from choosing as he is free and rational? And why the heck is the religious sector intervening? FYI: not all filipinos are christians. we need laws that'll protect the nation as a whole, and not for the religious majority.

@Jeangrey: Yes. We human beings are INCLINED TO sin but that doesn't mean that we SHOULD sin. If we just try analyzing this bill/so-called solution to our problems, we will see the irony of it. It actually leads to a higher possible risk of pregnancy. If this bill is passed, it will be easier for people to have access to contraceptives and abortion. Sooner or later, abortion will be legalized. This isn't family planning, this is murder.

@Sweetie: corruption is a fact of life, as long as there are infallible human beings in power, corruption is a possibility. Family planning will help people decide how they want to raise their family. It will hopefully allow people to give birth to children they can afford.

@Paulo: Because China is bigger and has more area wherein their people can live on, in contrast with our small archipelago. They're having population issues of their own because of the previous one-child policy which was a poorly constructed yet perfect example of state-sanctioned family planning.

Its hard to give opinion coz im not really yet familiar with the bill, but for me, poplulation is not the sole factor why there is poverty. I think if there are zero corruptions life of filipinos will be better because the money being corrupted will intead be divided among the people who needs help. Its right to have population control through family planning but its not right that only few people are being benefited by money that is supposed to be for the support and benefits of many people.

I'm just curious. Why is China, though having a very large population, still managed to have a booming and prosperous economy? To think, that our population is ONLY about 1/16 of theirs? =)
