Checks are indispensable to aspiring entrepreneurs and established businessmen alike. Suppliers and lessors usually require post-dated checks or PDC's to cover installment payments, and issuing checks are generally more convenient and safer than carrying huge amounts of cash. However, just like in any aspects of business, vigilance is required. Check frauds are still prevalent. In many instances, the check you are holding, while valid, is worthless. Here are some basic tips to avoid being a victim of check fraud: |

This is old "news", actually, but more and more people are making a living from blogging, according to Canadian Business Online. For instance, one of the featured success stories in Adsense, Weblogs, Inc. grew its revenue from $1,000 to $3,000 per DAY, although this figure has certainly increased by now. The more recent success story is TechCrunch blog. As reported in SFGate.com: "TechCrunch has a full-time staff of eight. This year, it hired a CEO. In August, 1.25 million people visited TechCrunch or its affiliated blogs at least once, according to comScore Inc. It brings in $240,000 per month in advertising, according toArrington, and pulls in additional revenue from conferences and parties." |

There used to be -- well, at least until today -- a separate TOPIC for Business Opportunities. We got to think, however, that this topic is really unnecessary because, as previously noted, Pinoy Entrepreneurs need not be told about business opportunities. An entrepreneur sees a potential business venture even from the most unlikely source or circumstance. It's obvious that successful entrepreneurs see what is not obvious. Huli man raw at magaling, ok na rin. Roughly 67% answered "yes" to the poll question " Ramdam mo ba ang Asenso?" (found at the bottom-left sidebar of this site). This basically means that a higher percentage of those who answered, even if only a few, feels the progress touted by the government in commercials. The poll result is far from scientific and may change as more persons answer the poll. In fact, considering that the poor -- comprising a significant portion of the Philippine society -- does not have access to the internet, this figure may be, or is, far from the truth. |

Among the holidays and long weekends is All Saints' Day (November 1). All Saints Day (November 1) honors those who have attained the beatific vision in heaven. Halloween is the day preceding it, while the next day, All Souls' Day, commemorates the departed faithful who have not yet been purified and reached heaven. |

Due to the declared regular holidays and special non-working holidays on 29 October 2007, as well as 1 and 2 November 2007, there are only two (2) working days for this week. Sounds great. On the other hand, my wife kept telling me that there's already a declaration that work for 31 October is only half-day. I told her, however, that I haven't heard of any proclamation declaring 31 October as a half-day non-working holiday. |
