Philippines in CNBC Top 10 Worst Countries for Business
- Details
- Category: Business Opportunities
CNBC released a list of the World's 10 Worst Countries for Business and, unfortunately, the Philippines made it to the list. We previously noted, including a separate poll about, the most problematic factors in doing business in the Philippines. This one, however, is different. It directly identifies the Philippines as a country really bad for business.
The CNBC Top 10 Worst Countries for Business, from the lowest to the worst, are as follows:
10. Argentina
9. Russia
8. Brazil
7. Indonesia
6. India
5. Nigeria
4. Philippines
3. Algeria
2. Ukraine
1. Venezuela
According to the report, "foreign businesses are wary of the Philippine’s unstable legal system, violence, and bureaucracy." The report also noted that the Philippines "ranks among the lowest when it comes to starting a business." We've also noted that it's not easy to start and run a business in the Philippines. Pinoy Entrepreneurs have to be really tough.
If there's anything good that could come out from being included in the list, it's for the government to stop being defensive, accept the reality, and DO something about it. How to do it?
