It was raining cats and dogs last night, and I'm marooned somewhere by the Metro Manila flood. The good thing about it, we'll have time exploring the nooks and crannies of this site. For instance, let's explore the full potential of this blog feature.
Abaca is not only an important fiber, but also one of the important export products of the Philippines. For a number of years, this fiber comprised approximately two-thirds of the total export trade of the Philippines. Abaca is the premier cordage fiber of the world. It is a structural (hard) fiber obtained from the outer layers of the overlapping leaf sheaths which form the stalks of the abaca plant. It is very light, strong, and durable.
